I’ve been having issues with widgets in 2.7 and 2.6.5 recently so GEEK! is still running the good old 2.6.2. I might pluck up the courage later to see if the issues from the betas have been fixed in RC1.

Oh and by the way according to WordPress.com the final release of 2.7 is due next week.
It was announced recently that WordPress 2.7 has been set back until early December due to apparent issues with WordPress and Internet Explorer 6.
No, you aren’t going blind – I said Internet Explorer 6. I’m sorry, but who still uses it?
I’ve been waiting for 2.7 for ages and now they have to hold it back because of issues with IE6. Why can’t people just get Firefox or Chrome and move on. Or at least upgrade Internet Explorer. Firefox 2 is still great for older versions of Windows so there’s no excuse there.
Why can’t WordPress just release WordPress 2.7 and then make some update for it later to make IE6 work, instead of making us wait another 2 weeks.
Ah well, I hope it’s worth the wait. 🙂
The WordPress Developement have released beta 2 of WordPress 2.7 with a long list of updates and bug fixes.
I’m not going to test it on my server because I don’t think there’s a huge amount of updates from a visual perspective.

You can also grab a copy there or from your Admin itself.
Don’t forget the final release is due on the 10th 🙂

I logged onto WordPress today to find they’ve launched a first beta of 2.7. So quick as I could, I prepped up a test install to see what its like.
So here is the first page, and it looks wonderful.
Well, first looks – I really like the new design. Looks much more organised and tells you a lot more than the previous version’s dashboards.
